While fishing for Smallmouth we fish the shorelines while casting and retrieving, other times we vertical jig and sometimes we wade the river using live bait as was the case on this day. Wading the many sandbars along the shores of the river using live bait along the drop offs can be a very effective way of catching fish when the bite is light or finicky.
